A Maryville man has been charged with stealing and forgery after several attempts to pass bad checks, KQ2 reported. According to court record, on Aug. 28, the Maryville Police Department responded to Nodaway Valley Bank for reports of fraud. According to Nodaway County court records, a Ravenwood woman was charged with forgery, stealing, and financial exploitation of an elder on Sept. 10. KQ2 first reported that Jennifer D. Miller of Ravenwood was arrested on June 3 after being accused  of attempting to steal $50,000 dollars and close the victims bank account.

The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors announced Sutherlands as the  September Business of the Month. Sutherlands is a nationally recognized store for home improvement industry but the Maryville location is a local, family-owned business. Sutherlands was nominated for its great customer service and fair prices, according to the press release.

Nodaway and Worth County area football schools remained undefeated again this week. Maryville scored 42 points while Chillicothe remained scoreless.
