Winter storms expected this week
According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm is expected to impact the area starting tonight and through tomorrow night. Snowfall of 4-8 inches is currently expected across the area with a light glaze to a few hundredths of an inch of ice, largely for areas south of I-70.

Hopkins approved for grant to purchase new fire truck
The Hopkins Board of Aldermen was informed by the Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Alderman that the Hopkins Fire Protection District has been approved for a Community Development Block Grant for $524,646 to purchase a new firetruck, according to the Maryville Forum.

Missouri Farmers Care accepting award applications
Missouri Farmers Care is accepting applications for the 2026 Missouri Agricultural Stewardship Award until June 30, according to a news release. The award recognizes the bar set in Missouri agriculture for the careful and responsible management of land, natural resources and animals entrusted to the care of Missouri farmers and ranchers.

New car wash opens in Maryville
Champion Xpress Carwash, located at 1821 South Main Street, opened on Wednesday. Champion Xpress will donate $1 per wash to Maryville High School athletics through Feb. 19, according to a news release.

Maryville city manager takes position in California
According to reports from the Maryville Forum, Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel has accepted the city manager position in Seaside, California, His last day will be March 7. Assistant City Manager Ryan Heiland will serve as interim city manager.
