Buchanan County Prosecutor Michelle Davidson announced that no criminal charges will be filed against the law enforcement officers involved in the May death of 36-year-old Marcus Caldwell. Deputies originally responded to a disturbance on May 28th, where a physical altercation ensued after Caldwell allegedly exhibited erratic behavior and attempted to grab a deputy’s weapon. After being handcuffed, Caldwell suffered a fatal medical emergency, and a comprehensive review of body-camera footage and forensic reports concluded that the officers’ actions constituted legally reasonable force.
