The 2022 Mustangs MVP will now begin his professional career working his way through the Mets’ farm system. Carey secured the contract after a 2026 collegiate season in which he won the Brooks Wallace Award as the nation’s best shortstop and was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
