Ruslan Huseynov has been charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the January 10 shooting death of Dennis Sharkey on I-29 in Platte County. The charges follow a complex investigation that utilized cell phone data and surveillance footage to identify Huseynov as the suspect. Authorities allege Huseynov stopped Sharkey’s vehicle on the interstate, approached with a gun, and fired a shot before fleeing, with the weapon later found at his residence.
