MSHP Urges Safety During Busy Thanksgiving Travel Period

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is warning drivers to expect heavy traffic over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, with Wednesday and Sunday projected to be the busiest travel days. Troopers will be on Missouri roadways for Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness and Reduction Effort) to enforce traffic laws and assist motorists. Drivers are reminded to observe speed limits, be aware of work zones, and ensure all vehicle occupants are buckled up, given that last year saw 11 fatalities during the same period. The Patrol also advises using the MoDOT Traveler Information Map to plan routes and encourages sober driving both on highways and waterways.
