St. Joseph city leaders are taking the next step toward regulating data centers by considering two consulting contracts to help draft new local zoning rules. The City Council will hear the first reading of the proposed ordinances on Monday, building on a year-long pause on new data center applications that began in July. If approved, the hired experts will help the city establish development standards for issues like noise, utility usage, and location, with a final council vote expected on October twelfth.
