The St. Joseph School District’s Board of Education has voted down a proposed two-tiered Career Ladder program for the upcoming school year. The measure failed in a four-to-three vote, rejecting a plan that would have reduced the maximum stipend available compared to the district’s previous three-tiered system. With no program currently in place for the 2026-2027 academic year, district officials will now contact state education authorities to determine their next steps.
