The local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will commemorate the anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence with a special event in St. Joseph. The James Smith Talbot Chapter will host a live reading of the historic document on Wednesday, July 8th, at 5 p.m. on the south patio of City Hall. Members dressed in colonial military uniforms will read the declaration in its entirety during the free, 20-minute public ceremony.
